Ancestral Knowledge offers a wide range of topics for all levels of experience on the topics of; nature awareness, primitive technology, and traditional earth based living skills. Ancestral Knowledge is the first of its kind in the DC Metro area to offer educational experiences in this field of knowledge.
All of our programs intertwine two methods of teaching; Experiential Education-“learning by doing” and Coyote Teaching-“guiding not giving”.
Ancestral Knowledge is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization is operated by a community of naturalists who specialize in ancient life skills and philosophies that support sustainable lifestyles.

Summer Day Camps
Our 100% outdoor camps are filled with forest exploration, games, and hands-on projects. Our camps are geared towards kids ages 7-13 and 13-17, providing experiences that are fun, exciting, and unforgettable.
Homeschool Programs
Through hands-on experiential learning the Homeschool Naturalist Program provides participants with a deep understanding and connection to our natural history.
